As the weather gets warmer, it may be too hot to go outside in the mid-day sun, so how about having a picnic inside? As a change from sitting at tables, you can put blankets down on the floor and let the children sit together in small groups to eat their lunch. You can either: • let your parents know about the picnic and give them some suggestions of food that is easy to eat when sitting on a blanket. OR • use it as an opportunity to further develop learning by involving the children in the planning and preparation. The children can help to plan the food and location. Wash fruit and make sandwiches. Pack their picnic and take it to the picnic location.
