Classroom Campfire By: Ashlee Steward Looking for summer activities to do within your nurseries? Why not create a camping theme! You can work together to create a paper fire and even collect some small stones to put round it if you wish. Depending upon the age groups you teach, you could make paper maché rocks using ballons or crumple piles of recycled paper and paint them grey to look like stones. You can extend this activity according to their age and stage of development. You could even involve the parents and ask them to send the children in with marshmallows (check that no one is allergic) and with blankets, bears ,flashlights, etc. The children can then enjoy ‘roasting’ marshmallows around the fire and story time!
