David Williams a/k/a “King
David the 15th”
Go Realest Records
Q: What is your career background and where are you from?
I’m from New Orleans, Louisiana (Algiers)
Q: What or who inspired you to do music? My inspirations in the
music industry has to go back to the first artist I tried to mimic is L.L. Cool J
“the bigger the deafer album”. Ice Cube and NWA, Scarface and the Ghetto
Boys on the hip-hop side. I was also influenced by Terrence Trent D’Arby
(Pop/R&B singer) “ Sign your name across my heart....”
Q: What would you say your journey in the music industry has
been like? It’s been enlightening, a positive experience yet frustrating at times
but in one word I’d say LIBERATING!
Q: What’s the one thing you want everyone to know about you?
The one thing that I would like everyone to know is that it’s possible only if you put
forth the effort and energy in everything that consist of making your dreams happen.
I’m a solid guy, personable, straight-up and a down. I’m a believer in action. I try to
have a purpose behind everything I do. My music contains substance. I don’t rap
about irrelevant topics. Not too mush subliminal, but that listeners can take from
my message and apply to their own life.
Q:Tell us about your previous and upcoming work as an artist
as far as Collaborations, Performances, Concerts, Accomplishments & Affiliations? King David as an artist has released 2 underground
CD’s: The Thug Lord-“2003”, The King of Kings- “2004” and one digital release:
The Niggerish Album,”2006” (debut Release for King David) post Katrina. Performed at The Suite, The Red Velvet, Carribien Club, Blue Nile, Café’ Brazil, Vaso’s,

Orleans. Current works include collaborations with local artist Co-Deep (unsigned

GO Realest Records. Producers include Pyro, Tom Rich and myself. The newest
project I’m working on: The most interesting man in the world to be digitally
released July 4th on Independence Day.
Q: If a major label were interested in you, what should they
know about you as an artist? I know my work and it must be a mutual
respect on both parties in order to get anything accomplished. Meaning, that if I feel
like, okay me doing a deal with your company will put me on an international status
in stores, but you want to offer me maybe a percentage less than half per unit, I
can’t accept that. It’s like you’re asking me to sell myself short and I know I’m worth
more that.
Q: What advice would you give to aspiring artist? Don’t bite my shit.
Do you, be original. Work hard if this is really what you want cause it’s not easy.
Q:What encourage you to market so hard? What do you
expect to gain from marketing yourself? My drive is to be successful. I
want to represent N.O., represent Algiers (15th ward). I want to bring that glory
back to N.O. I’m expecting the BIG pay off “my standard of success” Being able to
leave a legacy for my generation to come.
