Exploring Woodland Trails
If you enjoy crisp walks in the woods , the peace and quiet , the sounds of nature all around you , then the 103-acre woodland at the heart of Origin Park is the place for you . Buttonbush offers three trail entries that guide you into and through this beautiful landscape . At one entrance you will see and hear the natural flow of Mill Creek , once the site of George Rogers Clark ’ s mill . As you walk , you will also notice the levees , remnants of a once vibrant farmland , as well as the sounds of woodpeckers and flickers . Deeper into the woods , the wetlands provide wildlife with not just a home but a natural feeding ground as well .
Biking and Running the Greenway
Whether coming from the west , from downtown New Albany across the Silver Creek bridge , or from the east , crossing the Big 4 Bridge in downtown Jeffersonville , riding and running the Greenway through Origin Park is an increasingly popular activity , no matter what town you live in and in some cases , what state .
High school track clubs and bicycle clubs ( both semi and professional ) find the 7.6-mile stretch from Louisville ’ s Waterfront Park to New Albany ’ s Amphitheater both challenging and beautiful , all year round .
As Origin Park continues to grow and build new ways to access its features , it will become an ever more popular place to exercise and enjoy the beautiful scenery and sounds .
