Cala Banyalbufar
The small village of Banyalbufar, famed for its centuries-old terraces cut into the mountainside seems to defy gravity as it clings to the cliffs that drop into the dark blue sea below. At the bottom of the vertical cliffs, and accessed by some heart-stopping stone steps, is one of the island’s most protected bays. There isn’t much room amongst the narrow strip of boulders to lay out your towel, but the swimming here is divine! The clear, calm rocky waters just beg to be explored. Das Dörfchen Banyalbufar, das für seine jahrhundertealten, in den Berg geschnittenen Terrassen berühmt ist, scheint der Schwerkraft zu widerstehen. Es klammert sich an die Klippen, die in das dunkle blaue Meer abfallen. Am Fuß der senkrechten Klippen, und über schwindelerregende Steintreppen erreichbar, liegt eine der am besten geschützten Buchten der Insel. Auf dem schmalen Steinstrand ist nicht viel Platz, um sein Handtuch auszubreiten, aber das Schwimmen hier ist einfach göttlich! Das klare, ruhige Wasser bittet geradezu darum, erkundet werden.

Es Canyaret, Llucalcari
Just outside of Sóller on the winding coastal road to Deià is the tiny hamlet of Llucalcari, home to one of the north coast’s prettiest and most tranquil coves. A 300m long path leads from the village through a forest of pine, olive and carob trees down to a pebble beach and a clear, deep blue bay. On one side of the bay a fresh water stream bubbles up between the clay and rocks creating the perfect opportunity for a cleansing mud bath, while the more adventurous can seek out the great Cova Fosca sea cave just outside of the bay. Gleich außerhalb von Sóller, auf der gewundenen Küstenstraße nach Deiá, liegt der winzige Weiler Llucalcari, die Heimat einer der schönsten und ruhigsten Buchten der Nordküste. Ein 300 m langer Pfad führt vom Dorf durch einen Wald aus Kiefern, Oliven- und Johannisbrotbäumen hinab zu einem Kieselstrand und einer klaren, tiefblauen Bucht. Auf der anderen Seite der Bucht sprudelt ein Frischwasserstrom aus dem Tonboden und den Felsen hervor: die perfekte Gelegenheit für ein reinigendes Schlammbad. Abenteurer können die tolle Seegrotte Cova Fosca direkt vor der Bucht erforschen.
