Since 1986, the studio has designed large-scale exhibitions, spaces and experiences for world-class institutions, museums and organisations. How do you create a layered and authentic immersive experience out of a 9th-century manuscript, an unparalleled university collection, and an at-risk 18th-century barrel-vaulted library? Event worked closely with Trinity College to translate their stories into a nuanced cultural and emotional journey that blends cutting-edge technology with deep historical insight and meticulous attention to detail.
Event’ s goal was to broaden the college’ s audiences with an exciting and emotionally resonant immersive experience, while grounding the experience in curatorial integrity, narrative depth, and deep connections to the book’ s material history. This theatrical, multi-sensory, immersive journey is in a bespoke pavilion, filled with stories, sights and sounds inspired by the ancient manuscript and the Old Library’ s collections. It transports visitors into the illuminated pages of the 9th-century manuscript and the globally renowned collections of the magnificent Old Library.
