into the air , presenting visitors with an unexpected and dynamic audio-visual display . The aesthetics of group movement of animals such as fish and birds , the flow of water and other naturally occurring phenomena are recurring themes in Squidsoup ’ s work .
Large-scale site-specific artworks like Shoal act as a navigation point , encouraging audiences to engage afresh with otherwise unremarkable parts of their towns and cities . Consisting of a networked system of some 750 individual orbs , the work guides audiences through the space , encouraging them to see the space anew , bringing together a multitude of experiences to increase footfall , inspire togetherness and start conversations .
