Sochi
Sochi is located in the Krasnodar Region and is the administrative centre of the Sochi Resort City . It is the only subtropical resort in Russia and sits on the northeastern coast of the Black Sea .
As of January 1 , 2021 , the population of the Krasnodar Region was 5,683,947 people , including Sochi ’ s 432,322 population . The Krasnodar Region extends over 75.500 square kilometres , with Sochi accounting for 3,500 square kilometres of them .
Local expertise An all-season international resort , the city accounts for more than 50 % of the total resort potential of the Krasnodar Region . During the summer holiday season , there are approximately 2,500 accommodation facilities available for tourists in the city , including 60 resort houses and recreation centres . In winter , Sochi offers tourists the ski resorts at Krasnaya Polyana , where many of the XXII Winter Olympics events took place in 2014 . The leading sectors of the local economy include retail trade , the industrial sector , construction , catering , and agriculture . The city ’ s agricultural sector is represented by tea-growing and fruit-growing industries and there are specialised enterprises for trout farming , poultry production , quail farming , as well as a rich tradition of beekeeping and flower growing .

According to ICCA , seven major events of international associations were held in the city over the past five years .
Main specialised venues The Main Media Centre covers a total area of 155,910sqm and contains a plenary session hall with 1,600 seats ; 14 conference halls offering between 50 and 530 seats , and a further 20 meeting rooms and other conference space . The exhibition facilities include pavilions varying in size from 3,500sqm to 6,500sqm and outdoor spaces offering the option of additional parking spaces , and space for exhibitions and stands ( total area : 54,000sqm ).
At the Grand Hotel Zhemchuzhina Exhibition Centre there is 1,430sqm of exhibition space , a movie and concert hall and more event space – 482sqm – able to host up to 500 people . The centre has nine conference halls ranging from 30sqm up to 248sqm and capacities from 26 to 200 people .
