UK – News UK has launched News
Live , a standalone events business that will develop face-to-face , branded experiences while managing the media group ’ s existing events portfolios .
The new division is headed by David McLean , current general manager of News UK ’ s content studio , Bridge Studio .
McLean said : “ The events market has been changed ... but there is still a huge opportunity here for brands and for media businesses who can understand and leverage the new ecosystem .”
Australia – Global event management and services company Freeman will close its Info Salons Sydney headquarters by November .
The company that had 13 % of its pre-Covid portfolio in Australia , says the closure is due to the effects of the pandemic on the local market .
The company told EW : “ Australia continues to be in lockdown due to Covid-19 and we do not anticipate live events here to return in the short-term . With that , we have decided to close our Sydney office .”
Germany – Event tech specialist ExpoPlatform is to partner with Munich-based consultancy Adventics , which will see them jointly embark on plans for growth in Germany and other markets .
Adventics will use its expertise as an event tech advisor to help ExpoPlatform ’ s growth in exhibitions , while the event tech firm will support in areas such as technology and sales .
Gunnar Heinrich , CEO of Adventics , hopes the relationship will reap “ further expansion on the growing market of online and hybrid events .”
