First Future Meeting Space research meeting in Frankfurt Emerging opportunities , persisting classics , fading models : business events in a transformative era – these are key themes targeted in this year ’ s research phase of the Future Meeting Space innovation network – the result of a collaboration between the German Convention Bureau and the
Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering IAO . The research is focusing on the question : ‘ What ’ s coming , what ’ s staying , what ’ s going ?’
The constant spread of megatrends such as New Work , demographic change and artificial intelligence is increasingly shaping our daily lives , the researchers say , pointing out that while some business events offerings have already been displaced and others have remained untouched , significant and sometimes hidden potential continues to emerge . Which standards and processes in the business event ecosystem will remain , disappear or emerge are some of the questions they are keen to answer .
The first research meeting recently took the team on a tour of the Messe Frankfurt GmbH archives , where the group embarked on a journey to the roots of trade fairs in Germany .
Sad news from Messe Stuttgart India Messe Stuttgart India announced “ with profound sadness ” the sudden passing of its managing director and CEO , Sachin Patil on 21 May , 2024 .

New head of acquisitions at NürnbergMesse Alexandra Költsch has been appointed as the new head of acquisition and marketing guest events at NürnbergMesse . She has been with the company since 2007 .
Költsch , who took up the role on 1 May , has gained extensive experience in the event industry , having worked in an agency and in stand construction . Since 2011 , she has been instrumental in leading NürnbergConvention , a marketing collaboration between NürnbergMesse and CTZ Congressund Tourismus-Zentrale Nürnberg , focusing initially on marketing and press work .
Regarding her new role , Költsch said : “ I ’ m very pleased to return to event acquisition , where I can be even closer to customers .”
UFI Global Congress - Cologne Registration is open for the 2024 UFI Global Congress . The 91st edition of the association of the global exhibition industry ’ s largest and most global annual event will take place 20-23 November 2024 in Cologne , Germany .
This year the Congress will be hosted by Koelnmesse in its new Conference and Exhibition Centre : Confex , a space that can hold more than 6,000 participants .
