The Tuen Mun – Chek Lap Kok Link ( TM-CLKL ) was commissioned on 27 December 2020 . It will provide the most direct route between the Northwest New Territories and HZMB , the airport and North Lantau . Traveling time between Tuen Mun South and the airport is shortened from 30 minutes to 10 minutes .
These projects will give Hong Kong even closer connections to cities in Mainland China , leading to more cross-boundary connectivity and economic co-operation .
To accommodate influx of cross-border tourists , Sheraton Hong Kong Tung Chung Hotel was opened in late 2020 , while 2 other hotels in Tung Chung , The Silveri Hong Kong – MGallery , and Four Points by Sheraton Hong Kong will open soon , offering of over 1,400 hotel rooms .
