ASIAWORLD-EXPO : THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME !
AsiaWorld-Expo , a world-class international exhibition and event centre in Hong Kong , which opened in 2005 . Phase I saw 70,000sqm of rentable spaces built including Hong Kong ’ s largest indoor seated arena that can accommodate 14,000 pax and the biggest indoor convention and hospitality hall that can cater for a 360-table banquet with over 4,300 guests .
Phase II Development In 2020 HKSAR Policy Address reinstated that the government supports the Phase II expansion plan of AsiaWorld-Expo ( AWE ). Phase II will house the largest indoor performance venue in Hong Kong which will accommodate 20,000 people . Upon completion the total gross floor area of AWE ’ s exhibition facilities will increase to 100,000 square metres . The second phase development coupled with the future SKYCITY and three-runway system will complement each other and create more dynamic EXPOtainment experience to event organisers and visitors .
Airport City The Airport Authority Hong Kong ( AA ) plans to further enhancing the airport ’ s capacity and functionality with a series of projects being implemented progressively as part of the “ Airport City ” development . They include the three-runway system , the development at Hong Kong Boundary Crossing Facilities ( HKBCF ) Island , the SKYCITY and AWE Phase II Development and the air cargo development . These will strengthen Hong Kong International Airport ( HKIA ) as an international aviation hub and create a new landmark for Hong Kong .
