Americas – The Consumer
Electronics Show ( CES ) 2022 , which ran in Las Vegas until 8 January , has been hailed by US Travel Association president and CEO Roger Dow as a ‘ model ’ for 2022 events .
Dow said : “ The success of this year ’ s CES will contribute to the recovery of business travel in general and related industries . But , of critical importance , it is producing jobs for American workers who are dependent on the safe return of all sectors of travel .”
Europe – Bilbao Exhibition Centre has obtained the seal of full international official recognition from Spain ’ s Ministry of Industry , Trade and Tourism for five of the trade fairs on its programme . The status of ‘ Full Internationality ’ for the five shows is important for customs purposes and allows for state support for participation in such national trade fairs .
The certificate of Full Internationality means companies arriving from outside the European Union can temporarily exhibit their products without having to pay customs duties .

Emerald Holding has announced the acquisition of Denver-based MJBiz , a private event producer and content platform serving a range of companies operating in the cannabis industry . In 2021 , MJBiz , which has 40 staff , turned over approximately US $ 27m .
MJBiz said the acquisition by the Holding ’ s subsidiary Emerald X , for $ 120m , includes MJBizCon , the largest trade show of its kind in the cannabis industry . MJBizCon featured 1,200 exhibiting companies and 27,000 attendees when it ran in October 2021 in Las Vegas .
