A WELCOME FROM
EN EDITOR,
SAUL LEESE
First and foremost, I want to congratulate all of our winners.
Since starting as editor on EN, I’ve spent the past couple of
months talking to scores of independent organisers about their
events. What stands out for me, is the incredible determination,
passion and attention to detail everyone has.
Having worked for both large-scale and independent
organisers, I’ve come to realise that so many of the larger
businesses, seem to have forgotten, the very essence of what
made them successful organisers. I can honestly say that
independents are the creative engine of the event industry,
working on ‘shoestring’ budgets and very often battling larger
events with big budgets.
But despite an incredibly tough, competitive landscape, they
continue to thrive despite all the odds.
I feel incredibly proud to be able to play our part in supporting
you, and I want everyone to know that everyone here at
Exhibition News feels the same way. I want to thank all of the
sponsors, including our headline sponsors; The NEC, Circdata,
beMatrix and G-indy sponsor Scottish Event Campus. I’d also
want to thank the team here at EN (You know who you are),
who’ve worked tirelessly to produce this event.
Lastly, I want to say thank you to everyone who made the effort
