Power of Events
The Power of Events has reached its first £ 100,000 funding target .
Since its June launch , the not-forprofit company has built a community of 500 supporting organisations and partners and launched action groups to develop content and wider industry engagement ahead of the platform launch next January .
The Power Of Events will showcase the UK Events Industry by defining the seven core event industry sectors and demonstrating the power of their social , cultural and economic contributions to the UK . It will work in partnership with universities to design and deliver research and data that demonstrates the social , economic and cultural impacts of events across the UK .
The platform aims to map the breadth and expertise of the UK events industry , underpinned by credible data and trend analysis ,
The first target of £ 100,000 has now been reached , with plans to extend the target to £ 200,000 .
Clean and Tidy
The Clean and Tidy Home Show , organised by Latch Events , launched at ExCeL London on 8-9 October .
The consumer show featured celebrities , cleanfluencers and experts , showcasing the latest cleaning , organising and home and products , and brought together a growing community of homemaking enthusiasts .
Founder Penny Moyses said : “ We ’ re covering things like parenthood , pet ownership , mental health , hygiene poverty and more . What we really want to do is harness and challenge stereotypes when it comes to the home and make sure we are all confident enough to do what we need to do so that our homes work for us and best support the lifestyle we want .
“ We are huge advocates for cleaning and home organising as professions and want to make it easier for us all to accept help when we need or want it .”
Nineteen ’ s acquisition hat trick
Nineteen Group has made its third acquisition of 2022 as part of their ‘ strategy to create the leading platform for manufacturing events in the UK .’
Nineteen Group acquired Drive and Controls and its colocated manufacturing events Plant and Asset Management , Fluid Power Systems and Airtech from DFA Media .
It follows their acquisition of Lyrical Communications , in September .
CEO Peter Jones said : “ Lyrical is an exciting addition to the Nineteen family and fits with our strategy to acquire the fastest growing event brands in resilient markets .
Jones added that Nineteen planned to create the leading platform for manufacturing events in the UK .
He added : “ The UK is the 9th largest manufacturer in the world and is facing a period of unprecedented change which is always the major ingredient for trade show innovation . This event is completely synergistic with the rest of our rapidly growing manufacturing portfolio .”
Nineteen Group acquired the Hennik Group , organisers of Digital Manufacturing Week , Smart Factory Expo and publishers of The Manufacture in June . Nineteen Group is backed by Phoenix Equity Partners . Group manageing director Alison Jackson told EN in February , Nineteen was always looking for new acquisition targets , ideally “ B2B shows in markets with great potential ”.
