orway Trade Fair (NTF), 40,000sqm
of exhibition space across five halls,
hosts over 50 large events each year.
Their largest event, Nor-shipping,
sees 47,600 delegates from across
Europe decend on the capital’s venue
and is organised by the NTF. The
event has in excess of 800 exhibitors
with 19 international pavilions; more
than enough space for any medium
to large-scale exhibition. What it also
demonstrates, is that the venue can
easily house global events for just about
any market.
Jan Gjaere, director of International
Conferences at NTF, said: “We want to
attract the right kind of organisers to our
venue. Oslo is an incredible and exciting
city, with beautiful natural surroundings.
Professionals working in medical,
pharmatceutical, energy and SmartCity
markets are attracted to our city, mainly
because it is ideally positioned, with the
right attitude, expertise and seen as a
natural fit for these sectors.”
This year, NTF also hosted a neurology
event EAN (European Academy of
Neurology), the world’s third largest
congress for neurologists. It included
60 seminars, a plenary session for 2,200
delegates and saw over 7,500 professional
visitors.
Gjaere adds: “Our venue is easily
accessible, with 112 daily international
flights, and we’re just 10 minutes from
the airport with trains running every 10
minutes. We’ve created a resort feel at
NTF with a wide variety of venues onsite
and hotels with 60 additional meeting
spaces”
VisitOSLO project manager Jorun
Aasen Kristiansen, works with
international organisers, she said: “Oslo
is not the only a city which can offer top
of the range venues, seamless transport
and effective logistic solutions. What
makes Oslo stand out, is its ability to
create synergies between international
events and the city as whole. In Oslo
we enable event organizers to tap into
the local creative industries, so that
they may offer a unique experience to

Oslo is a relatively small city, easy to
get around and is was voted the Green
Capital of Europe 2019. But Olso’s
greatest strength is its proximity to
nature and the array of island and parks
nearby. Despite the city never appearing
crowded, unlike London, it is a top

Gjaere adds: “While we’re keen to talk
