Small Changes . Big Difference .

Hyve Spring and Autumn Fair ’ s senior marketing manager Lucy Green looks at how creating a forum for discussions around sustainability helped energise their community and effect change

The Power of One campaign launched at Hyve Plc ’ s fashion trade show Pure London in 2018 , raising the conversation around sustainability in the fashion retail industry . This ignited a forum for Pure London ’ s customers to talk about what needs to be done to change the future and how Pure London can support customers to take the right steps in becoming more sustainable .

The campaign has now been rolled out across our UK portfolio of shows .. The campaign has accelerated and continues championing the brands , suppliers and retailers we work with along the way . The Power of One campaign energises retailers and consumers to take small steps to change the future and we use our influence to effect change in the industry .
Guided by the United Nations ’ Sustainable Development Global Goals , we want to empower people into working towards a better future and give them the knowledge to embrace change . We want to drive awareness of the changes individuals and companies within the retail and fashion supply chain can make . Our aim is to use our influence across retail in a positive .

Through partnerships and a focused approach , the Power of One campaign has driven tangible change . One of the biggest problems that sustainability change faces is that people see the problems as too big to solve . The power of one campaign each year creates pledges that everyone in our community can act on . Small changes = big collective change . The campaign no longer just focuses on sustainability in the industry . We have created three simple but impactful pledges to encourage circular economy practices , combat overproduction , and prioritise wellness .
One of the most impactful parts of the campaign is The Spring Fair Sustainability Trail which highlights brands and suppliers striving to do their part to ensure a more sustainable and ethical future for all . From sourcing materials and manufacturing to the final product and packaging , we recognise that brands and suppliers are shifting their focus , and we want to celebrate and highlight these brands making it easier for retailers to find them .
Empowering our people / communities to change is a challenge . To be truly sustainable , we need to work as a team and help each other . We have established a cross functional sustainability task force group to understand the opportunities and challenges . At Hyve , ESG is a part of the strategic development of our events and we are extremely passionate about the Power of One campaign and what the future holds for it .
