It ’ s not about Grand Designs , or Ideal Homes , it ’ s about making a home support you and your lifestyle , whether you are a 16 year old , still living at home with your parents , or you are someone who is 60 , and your children have left and you ’ re looking to downsize . “ It ’ s not about big budgets , it really is one size fits all , because it ’ s just about having no shame , and discovering |
what you can do to make your home support you better .” As a female founder Moyses put herself under a lot of pressure to be the best businesswoman , mother and homemaker all at the same time . Understanding the cycle of pressure and shame that can hold women back , Moyses has committed to making changes to support her own team . “ I know that I certainly have incredibly high expectations of my myself in all facets of life ,” she says . “ So now starting a business , do I spend three hours cleaning my house ? Or do I spend that on the business ? When I ’ m working on the business am I going to be in the right mindset , if I ’ ve got a massive load of washing up that hasn ’ t been done and my laundry is everywhere ? It ’ s that constant battle .” |

She recognises the guilt felt by many working women that holds them back from the top rungs of the career ladder but also sees simple solutions that can make it easier for women to succeed – including fair pair , flexibility and trust . “ My son at four months went into full time nursery , and there was a hell of a lot of guilt around around that . “ If you haven ’ t got the support of other family or a partner it can be incredibly

challenging . “ I didn ’ t realise how important working hours were to facilitate even drop off and pick up . Childcare costs are just bonkers , and if there ’ s a gender pay gap it ’ s likely the person that ’ s going to stay at home is the woman if she ’ s not paid as much .” Moyses says she is incredibly fortunate to have a husband who puts the children to bed and helps with the business but feels many women feel guilty about employing domestic help while they juggle careers and family life . “ In the last few weeks before the show , he did more bed times than ever , because I had to really knuckle down and get the show done . So I feel incredibly fortunate , even though I ’ m in this conflicted turmoil . “ I felt shame in that , about going back to work , let alone starting a business that was going to put all of our family |
