Senior Graphic Designer Sean Wyatt-Livesley Sales Director Paul King Publishing Director Duncan Siegle Exhibition News Magazine *We’re back! Finally, we have some positive news. Exhibitions are permitted to return from 1 October providing the Government is satisfied with pilot events, which are due to take place at venues around England over August. I am dedicating this issue to celebrating this monumental achievement while remembering those people and businesses that are among the casualties of this pandemic. I think it is also important to recognise those companies that are prepared to take a significant risk by being among the first organisers to stage their events in October. People like Mark Maloney, MD of Salon International and Professional Beauty, who has two major events taking place at ExCeL within days of lifting the embargo that would normally attract around 65,000 visitors between them. Or Easyfairs’ medical aesthetic event CCR London which I believe is the first event to open after 200 days. None of these organisers know what to expect but what they learn will be a lesson for all of us. In this issue, I also want to pay tribute to our industry associations (AEO, ESSA and AEV) and leading figures across the exhibition industry that have jumped through numerous hoops to get a start date out of the Government. They have also created the All Secure Standard, a risk assessment framework, rubber stamped by the DCMS, for everyone to follow to help create safe events for exhibitors, staff and visitors alike. Finally, I have decided that this is my last issue as editor on EN, and I believe it is a fitting time to bid you all farewell as we celebrate the restart of our industry. I leave in the knowledge that EN has grown exponentially during my time as editor, something I am incredibly proud of, and I want to thank everyone that takes the time to read this wonderful institution of a magazine. A heartfelt ‘thank you’ to the incredible team behind it at Mash Media; Julian, Duncan, Marty, Paul, Sean, Olivia, Stuart, Gareth, Kayode and Libby.
