Drug traffickers are destroying native cultures of indigenous communities. Drug trafficking is the trade of toxic substances. The drug trade involves toxic substances, which contains the manufacture, distribution, sales, market control, and drug consumption and recycling, are quite harmful to health. Several international laws prohibit or limit drug trafficking, with penalties including execution by various means although this varies depending on the substance and local legislation. A UN study indicates that "global drug trade generated approximately 321.6 billion in 2003". This figure would be 1% of global gross domestic product in 2003. Drug use is spreading globally. The UN report analyzes the situation of fundamental rights and freedoms of indigenous people and consists of six asides concerning poverty, culture, environment, education, health and human rights. Its most important conclusion is reiterated that indigenous cultures are under threat of extinction.

The damage to the environment involves the forced migration of indigenous, African communities. Some of the causes of forced migration are growing coca because drug traffickers are forcing communities to leave their lands to grow coca that ends biodiversity. Illicit crops, deforestation, divert rivers, polluting water, it damages the ecosystem and to eliminate these indigenous resources have to find a place to live, where they can plant.

While not something legal in some countries like Colombia, Bolivia, Peru illicit crops give work to some people. Illicit crops grown consist of toxic substances such as marijuana, cocaine, drugs in general and can be distributed nationally or internationally. Also satisfies the need for "addicted" people, as to become "addicted" to the drug this element becomes indispensable for life.

In conclusion, the drug you are getting some people work cultivating toxic substances to sell or distribute nationally and / or internationally.
