Save the date: Uganda Alumni Seminar: November 2017 8 Nov On 8 November 2017, IOB will organise an alumni seminar in Kampala. The exact location and timing are still to be confirmed. In the afternoon, the alumni seminar will feature several presentations from IOB staff and alumni. Afterwards a network reception will be organized. Promises to be interesting and fun… so save the date! IOB Impact Award! Who has really made a difference? Which alumnus/a has been able to translate what he/she learned at IOB into a genuine added value in ‘development’? This is the question that drives the IOB Antwerp alumni seminar. Alumni can apply online to present the work they have been doing and what changes this work has brought about in society or in the lives of others. The review committee selects one alumnus/a whose work has really created ‘an impact on development’ to come to Antwerp to present his/ her work in person to IOB staff & students. This student will receive the IOB Impact Award. Other projects that are positively evaluated by the committee (i.e. have had a sizeable development impact) but that were not selected are presented as a poster during the poster reception. In previous editions, some of these applications have also been introduced to Belgian organizations who are potentially interested or have been selected for the UAntwerpen Christmas ‘good cause’ funding.
