How to keep safe when boating.
10 boating deaths per year for various reasons, eg; cold/shock/poor weather/vehicle unfit for purpose. Always wear a lifejacket of PFD as they are known as (Types 1/2/3) Demonstration by Dave Howard. Carry a Personal Location Beacon or EPIRB as they are known and are registered with the Government body. Instructions on the operation of these units due to questions asked. Good idea to carry a waterproof phone case. Trip preparation/planning – understand the weather. Check the following – METEYE – BOM. Maintain all safety gear to a high standard including navigation equipment, compass and any electronic devices. Marine radios are a much and they are monitored 24/7. Distress Calling 16-67. Muster Update:
140 members registered to attend including 35 children. No fires. Dinner Sunday night with a band on Saturday and Sunday night. Easter Bunny confirmed his attendance.
