AGM Reports 2017
PRESIDENT REPORT
What a rewarding 2 years this has been presiding over the Pajero Club, as part of the dedicated committee. Many
positive committee decisions have been made in the last 2 years that undoubtedly will be most positive for the future
progress of the club. The success of the Strategy Meetings each January have brought to the front many agenda items,
which through the committee, have been beneficial for the growth and development of the club. E.G. Revamped
P.O.T.Y. rewards which reward not just the highest achiever, but all members contributing their efforts back into the
club.

Disclaimer - ‘Please accept my apologies to any member that I may have inadvertently not mentioned’
Mitsubishi Pajero Club Challenge – Thank you Lael, for without your hand going up at the July 2016 meeting, the 2017
Pajero Challenge would not have happened. Lael’s perseverance throughout the months prior to the event brought home
a very successful 2017 Pajero Club Challenge.
Lael had a great team backing him. On the track work - Greg Sinclair (Track Coordinator), Stuart Gay, Peter Thomas and
Ian Salmon as track section planners. Many individuals assisted at the Moonambel Oval. Brian Hay, Colin Hopwood,
John Jansen to name a few. Then (Drum Roll) our dedicated teams that manned the check points providing competitors
with a much deserved, and at times, very amusing break. Logically, this event would not be possible without 2 other
factors - The competitors and the sponsors. Thank you to all the competitors who supported the Pajero Challenge and
provided some very positive and honest feedback. Last but not least, to Engel, Narva, Aussie Disposals and Mitsubishi,
your very generous financial support and prizes has guaranteed a resurgence of the Pajero Challenge into the future.
Committee – As mentioned in many of my monthly President reports, it has been a pleasure working with all the
committee members over the last 2 years. ‘Special mention’ – That will have to be to them all for their dedicated and
selfless ‘personal’ time given to ensure the Pajero Club is managed ongoing, and for the future.
To my fellow committee members, on behalf of all Pajero Club members, a sincere “Thank you”.
Iron Bark / Magazine – I know Frank would be humble to read the following; however, Frank being the deserving
recipient of the Iron Bark Award took on the Editors role at short notice back in 2012.
Under Frank’s watch, each monthly Exceed edition gained in content and design. Additionally, Frank was paramount
in promoting the Variety Club and ran many fund raising events through the Pajero club. Photography trips, Pajero
Club Public Web site and being part of the Web Development Sub Committee are just a few more activities Frank was
involved in while still producing the Exceed magazine.
Due to Frank’s increased business growth as a professional photographer, the editor’s role was taken over by Toni Hunter
Miller & Colin Miller in November 2016. Due to both the work load involved, and financial reasons, the Exceed
magazine became a Bi-monthly publication as of July 2017.
Thank you Frank, Toni and Colin for your great editorial work in communicating the Pajero Clubs activities each month
to all members.
P.O.T.Y. - Congratulations to Barry Walker winning the Pajero Club P.O.T.Y. Award (Person of the Year). The revamped
2016 POTY award has again successfully been revamped to reward not just the overall winner, but all members who
give their valuable time supporting the club. The overall 2017 POTY results will be published on the Pajero Club Web
site, and in the September Exceed.
4X4 Shows - Thank you to all members who gave their time supporting the club by manning our promotional stands
at various 4x4 shows. (Here comes another disclaimer!) There are so many dedicated members to thank, but if I may
name just a few. Alan Sellars, Peter van Riel, Ed Reddick, Darren Straub and Robyn Burke have been the coordinators
putting together the stand, and organising stand helpers.
Aussie Disposals, Wandin and the 4x4 Camping show have been very successful in recruiting new members. Thanks
again to the time given by all members lobbying the Pajero Clubs attributes at various 4x4 shows.
