Some of the Club ’ s favourite places have a limited number of ways out — think Wonnangatta Valley or closer to home the four winding exits off the Tallarook plateau . Ask the question – in one of these places with the other trip vehicles separated , trees across a track and smoke haze , do I know how to navigate my way to safety ( by myself )?
The first half dozen warnings for this fire season have already been issued ( see above ).
PS . And if you are in northeast Victoria this summer it is likely Pajero Club member # 1800 will be looking over you from his fire tower at Lurg .
Mt Hickey , Pajero Club trip in November 2015 , and surely one of our beautiful forests has been destroyed forever .
But look ! Back to the same location at Mt Hickey on a Pajero Club trip in March 2019 . The trees have green leaves , the undergrowth is back , and the grass is probably ready to burn again .
