MEMBER TRIP REPORT

We arrived in Betoota late afternoon . It was very crowded . In the evening a few of us ventured to the hotel to listen to a duo singing some great old songs .
It was a perfect evening for outdoor entertainment . Lots of singing , dancing , swaying and drinking !
The following morning , we left for Birdsville . We arrived around lunchtime and immediately queued up for petrol . This was a slow process which took about an hour .
We then went to the famous Birdsville Bakery where some of us tried the curry camel pie which was very tasty . We eventually met up with the other group and proceeded to the Common where we set up for the evening .
We all gathered for 5sies and then had an early night . The two days went without a hitch thanks to our very capable leader , Mitch , thanks to his diligent planning .
Day 9 – 4 July to Day 13 – 8 July Carla & Adam Risborg - 1921
The convoy of 10 ( both trips ) left Birdsville early Sunday morning and made our way to Bashville . A group so large stumped the BRB crew momentarily , seeing us pay a short visit into the trouble shooting lane but before we knew it , we were setting up camp . We had made it ! Well actually I lie , we raced over to the merch tent to make our BRB purchases and then set up camp . We headed over to watch The Crackup Sisters ( on Ed ’ s recommendation of course ) but only a few minutes in the antics proved a little too much for Cassie . Heidi on the other hand was very happy to meet the sisters after the show !
