Finish Line by Ms. Jenielle (Roxborough Histep site coordinator)

When Ms. Rachel and I decided to start the Digital Magazine program, I had no idea that it would be as successful as it has been throughout this school year. Ms. Rachel started the year out with powerful force and consistency. The students gravitated to her and magic began to happen. The Magazine was an instant success that recieved recognition not only from Roxborough staff, but also EducationWorks staff. It's as if the magazine became a liason that connected Roxborough High School and the HiSTEP Program (which can at times seem like a long distant relationship). A group of students and an AMAZING Instructor was able to break down those barriers each month by sharing student highlights, photography, special events, recipes, art and poetry. In the final month, Ms. Rachel faced a personal obstacle, but because of her persistence throughout the school year, like in an olymipic relay race, the students were able to take the baton and complete the final issue for the magazine. It was my pleasure to see the students take initiative with the magazine in this final month. As we end this year and get ready for the summer, I look forward to bringing back the WeRox Magazine program next fall. It has been one of the most successful programs and I anticipate more growth in the upcoming school year.

I would like to personally thank Ms. Rachel for taking charge of this program throughout the school year. Her presence has been tremendously missed over the past couple of weeks.

I would also like to thank Roxborough's Principal, Dana Jenkins, and staff for their support in getting the HISTEP program up and running at Roxborough.

Lastly, I would like to thank EducationWorks for their support with the magazine, your positive feedback is what kept us going.

I look forward to another successful year in Sepember.
