EW explores some regional news highlights in the global exhibitions industry
Europe – Germany’ s NürnbergMesse reported record-breaking sales of € 368m for 2024 and investment of € 100m in its exhibition grounds, digitalisation / IT / AI, and event portfolio. The company is also predicting a successful second half-year thanks to excellent registration numbers for the autumn fairs which, it says, could add up to the highest revenue in an odd-numbered year in the company’ s history. 2024 was the Group’ s 50th anniversary year and it has reported that, measured against the KPIs for exhibitors, visitors and square metres, that it had“ substantially outperformed” pre-pandemic numbers.

Americas – International exhibition organiser Hyve Group, has acquired Behavioural Health Tech(‘ BHT’) – the largest community of behavioural health payors, health systems, community-based providers, digital health innovators, government officials and funders. The acquisition marks Hyve’ s fourth in the last year and signals its entry into the fast-growing behavioural health sector. It also builds on the group’ s existing market-leading events in the space: HLTH US, HLTH Europe and ViVE. BHT was founded in 2020 in response to the increasing behavioural health crisis accelerated by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Americas – B2C show organiser
Marketplace Events( MPE) has acquired the Colorado Garden & Home Show from the Colorado Garden Foundation. The event, launched in 1959, is held at the Colorado Convention Center each spring and fall. Mark White, CEO of Marketplace Events, said:“ There are very few large nine-day shows with this history and reputation remaining in the US, and we are thrilled to add it to our ever-expanding portfolio.” The show is the Rocky Mountain region’ s largest event with more than 500 exhibitors and 40,000 annual attendees for its spring edition.
Europe – French events giant
Comexposium has appointed Pablo Nakhlé Cerruti as CEO, effective 25 August 2025. Cerruti, 42, will succeed Renaud Hamaide, who has led the company since 2010. The appointment comes as Comexposium continues to expand its global footprint across more than 150 events in 20 countries. Cerruti brings extensive experience in the events and real estate sectors. He served as chief executive of Viparis – events and venue management subsidiary of Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, operating Paris venues Porte de Versailles and Le Bourget – from 2018 to 2023.
