EW explores some regional news highlights in the global exhibitions industry

Europe – Global exhibition organiser Hyve is to launch its supply chain brand Manifest in Europe, with Lisbon confirmed as the host city for October 2027. Manifest’ s expansion follows Hyve recent brand extension announcements of Fintech Meetup Europe, POSSIBLE Europe, Shoptalk Luxe and Bett USA. The company says the launch demonstrates its strategy of geocloning proven brands into markets where it sees strong customer demand and long-term opportunity. Following the acquisition of Manifest in May 2025, its attendance has increased 20 % as part of Hyve.
Europe – Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre and Finnish energy company Helen built one of the city’ s largest solar power plants on the centre’ s roof in 2019 and the venue has now acquired the plant from Helen and will increase the share of solar-generated electricity at the venue in autumn 2027. That is when the centre’ s new space, Messukeskus Solar, is completed and the rooftop solar power plant comes into use.“ We can utilise all the electricity produced by the plant ourselves,” said Mika Vakkilainen, venue property director.
Asia – The Indian Exhibition Industry
Association( IEIA) marked its 20th anniversary at the 15th IEIA Open Seminar & Exhibition Services Expo 2026, an event that drew 1,200 delegates. Held under the theme‘ When the Right Dots Meet, Industry Moves’, the two-day event included a seminar featuring senior figures from government and industry, including Jawed Ashraf, chairman of India Trade Promotion Organisation( ITPO), Suman Billa, additional secretary and director general at India’ s ministry of tourism, and Sooraj Dhawan, president of IEIA.
Americas – North America-based consumer and trade show organiser Marketplace Events( MPE), has acquired the Travel & Adventure Shows. The transaction, which closed 1 May, 2026, represents the largest acquisition in Marketplace Events’ history. It adds the shows’ established events portfolio and dedicated team to MPE’ s network of 125 shows across 50 + markets – a platform that attracts over 2.2m attendees and 30,000 exhibitors annually. The Travel & Adventure Shows will continue to operate as a distinct division within MPE, led by Jonathan Golicz.
