Europe – Italian Exhibition Group
( IEG) has reported a strong first quarter, with revenues rising to € 102.8m – up nearly 16 % from the same period last year. The growth was driven mainly by the company’ s flagship events, new acquisitions and expansion into international markets. Profit before tax rose to € 32.1m and IEG’ s core trade fair business was the main driver of growth, contributing nearly € 75m in revenue. Successful events like SIGEP and Vicenzaoro performed well, and new shows such as Riyadh Muscle in Saudi Arabia added to the momentum.
Middle East – dmg events and
Messe München will launch IFAT Saudi Arabia in 2026, to run from 26-28 January at the Riyadh Front Exhibition & Conference Center. The global trade fair for water, waste and environmental technologies will be co-located with dmg’ s existing Global Water Expo. GWE launched in 2023 and quickly became a key meeting point for water infrastructure leaders. IFAT has editions in Germany, China, India and more. Saudi Arabia’ s waste management market is valued at $ 6bn and growing 7.8 % annually. The Kingdom has also earmarked $ 80bn for water and sanitation projects.
Europe – Spanish exhibition giant
IFEMA Madrid hosted a record 740 events and welcomed 4m visitors in 2024, according to its latest annual report. IFEMA Madrid posted 2024 revenues of € 230m – a 30 % increase on 2023. Net profit reached € 18.6m( up 166 %). IFEMA Madrid is Spain’ s biggest events and exhibition centre and hosted 740 events across the year, including 100 trade fairs and congresses. It organised four international events outside Spain. Visitor numbers hit 4m, up 6.8 % from 2023 and 34,468 companies participated across IFEMA Madrid’ s portfolio in 2024.
