The Dove Real Beauty Campaign was started in 2004 in the United Kingdom. This campaign uses women who are generally viewed as flawed to society in advertisements to advocate for natural beauty and promote the companies products.

The SPARK movement n was started off as a petittion made by Julia Bluhm (a sparks summit acitivist), to get Seventeen magazine to provide readers with realistic images of young women. After getting over 84,000 signatures on her petition they hand delivered it to an editor at the magazine. Seventeen had agreed to no longer alter the figures or appearances of
