The program offers supplemental funding to Pell eligible students
enrolled in a vocational certificate or A.S. degree program with a
minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA. To be eligible you must meet at least
one of the eligibility requirements to take advantage of the services
offered through New Directions: Single Parent (male or female),
Displaced Homemaker, Non-Traditional Student (those careers
having less than 25% of their gender).
Funding for New Directions is made possible in part through the support
of Daytona State College and Florida Department of Education, Carl D.
Perkins Career and Technical Education Postsecondary Programs,

SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CENTER
Sponsors a variety of workshops and seminars on how to increase
business productivity, efficiency and effectiveness, and provides
business owners with access to valuable research tools and
individual business management assistance. Certified Business
Analysts provide free and confidential counseling either face-to-face,
over the telephone or by email.

The Volusia’s Best program helps area
businesses meet standards of excellence
through personalized training and
performance planning. This initiative helps companies go from
“good to great” by improving capital through business training
using the “7 Keys”- systems execution; engaged employees;
relationship building; vision and leadership; information
technology; capital management; and exceeding expectations.
It combines activity-based training, online learning, university
research and one-on-one professional consulting to help companies
avoid pitfalls and achieve high levels of performance. The program
is customizable based on each business’s specific needs, and gives
CEU’s & certification to businesses with little or no cost to company.
