Have you thought about expanding your operation, maybe feeding the school kids in your community, especially now that winter is on its way?
Believe it or not, I was approached by a woman on the Northpine shop stoep asking if I’ m the lady from the soup kitchen. She suggested we start serving kids( especially those who don’ t have a slice of bread to take to school).
What has being the most difficult obstacles you’ ve faced since you’ ve started running the soup kitchen?
In serving others, there are no obstacles. We take in our stride to help where we can. However, I’ ve wanted to give up and my husband said‘ NO’. His words were, you can’ t start something and give up. Without his support I’ m sure I would have given up already.
How has the community responded to Michelle’ s soup kitchen?
The community we live in? We’ ve had many people say they would like to help, but to this day, I haven’ t heard from them, but that won’ t stop us from doing what we’ re doing.
What are your goals for Michelle’ s soup kitchen?
I haven’ t thought that far. We’ re taking it one step at a time. We have members of The love Christ Church who come once a month to encourage and pray for our people.
