Several people do not recognize the function of genetic engineering. It allows genes to be transferred through any two organisms. It is highly used in many kinds of food and its impact on human beings’ health is still unknown. This type of food is considered to be safe and low-priced. In addition to that, it has a highly improved quality and it protects the environment from insects and many diseases. However, GM food increases the resistance to antibiotics
which increases the risk of the human being to be infected by diseases. Moreover, growing GM crops in a large scale may affect the wild life and the environment. Health organizations should put rules for GM food in order for people to be aware of its benefits and risks and stay healthy. One of these rules is mentioning whether the good sold is composed of GM ingredients or not and whether these additives stay in the final product of the food or not.
