Rainbows are formed when sunlight and raindrops are combined in a specific way. Sunlight contains other colors that we don’t see. When a beam of sunlight descends to earth; it is usually white. But, when it enters a raindrop at a certain angle, the raindrop works as a reflector causing the different colors that form the beam to separate from one another in a form of a rainbow. Rainbow spectrum contains seven colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and purple. Each color has its own reflection angle. The larger the raindrop is, the clearer you can see the rainbow. If the raindrops are small, the rainbow will be so thin that you will not be able to differentiate its seven colors.
