and before long we were man
and wife. There were tears and
laughter from our guests and
we still couldn’t stop smiling.
Time to celebrate!
In our cocktail hour we had
cream and jam scones and
Pimms available for our guests
– not that we had time to have
any! While we posed for photos,
an incredible turnaround of the
ceremony room by Kerry-Lou
and her team went on, and
when Lee had captured all the
shots we wanted everyone went
in for dinner. My mum gave a
lovely speech, Chris said a few
words and then it was time for
the double act! The best men
had everybody in stitches – my-
self included – and had a well-
earned round of applause at
the end. After a delicious three
course meal which left everyone
stuffed, we all wandered out of
the way to allow the room to be
transformed yet again as the
band set up. chachacha and mambo which
flowed seamlessly into an ener-
getic jive. We didn’t put a foot
wrong and even remembered
to smile while we were danc-
ing! Our friends then joined us
on the dance floor and we had
a wonderful evening bopping to
music from McCue, our band.
The reception flew by, some
gorgeous buffet food was served
(although all our daytime guests
were still stuffed!) and we per-
formed the traditional cutting
of the cake. Before we knew it,
we were waving goodbye to our
friends and family and going
back to our room.
By the next evening, we were in
Paris enjoying fondue and wine.
We had a wonderful but cold
few days in the romantic city,
seeing all the sights and spend-
ing a day in Disneyland Paris.
We arrived home in time for me
to plan my lessons for the next
week and to get used to the idea
of my students calling me Mrs
Ward!
When our evening kicked off we
had a surprise for our guests – a
choreographed first dance! Our
dancing teacher had worked
hard with us to put togeth-
er a combination of rhumba, https://www.face-
