Christianity in Politics.
This being a Christian organization and Nicholas being Christian, hes asked me if he could supply his own thought in our magazine. You now know his political story but it is time for his religious story and how he handles and blends his belief while being in politics.
"John the Baptist talks about this a bit in Luke 3:7-14. We can be tax collectors, hold public office, and perform law enforcement or military duties. So the fact that being a Christian does not determine that we cannot be in politics, and we should maybe try to involve ourselves more to put in a Christian perspective and witness, bear fruit, and try to influence politics in a positive way. We want to put as many Christian morals into politics as possible because the world as we know it is becoming more and more corrupt. Romans 13:1 says “Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.” It goes on to say that when we resist authorities we resist God. I believe there is no issue with being a Christian in Politics, and I believe that God wants me there to witness to my peers and co-workers. I want them to say, he is so filled with joy and love of Christ. Maybe it will impact them and their hearts and do a little digging on who Jesus is."
