What can you do as a Backbencher?

A backbencher is someone who is not a front bench spokesperson which is like a representative for the caucus. As a backbencher you do not individually have much power to influence the government and its laws. However you can provide service to the constituency who elect a representative to a legislative body. Sometimes a backbencher will sit in on parliamentary committees where legislation is talked about in more detail because there isn’t always a lot of time in the House. Since backbenchers generally form most of the MPs, together they can sometimes have a lot of power especially in cases where the policies of the government are unpopular or when a governing party is spilt. Now Caucus is a meeting of supporters or members of a specific political party or movement.
