SKILL 30: AFTER HAVE USE THE PAST PARTICIPLE
Explanation: As we know the past participle is used with the verb to have (have / has /
having/had) to create the present and past perfect tenses.
The past participle formula is as follows:
VERB FORMS AFTER HAVE
HAVE/HAS + PAST PARTICIPLE
For example:
She has eaten all of the cookies.
I have written an essay about my life.
Glenda and Daniel have gone to the mountains.
They have helped me.
The past participle is usually the same as the past. Only some irregular verbs have a
past participle that is different from its past tense form depending on the type of
irregular verb. For example: (I have gone to work (irregular verb)
The cowboys have drunk all the beer.
The swimmers have swum across the lake.
