SECOND DAY
02/03/2017
We started the second day of this
wonderful project with an energizer,
we gathered around in a circle and
each participant was attributed a fruit.
In the circle where one chair was
missing; bananas, kiwis and grapes
were running around to find their own
seat in time. After we had our blood
running, we were ready for more
serious work. The trainers presented us
the 7 learning objectives of this
project, these subjects are related to
the non-formal styles of learning, but
also to the topic “conflict” itself.
The next activity outside provided our
minds with some much needed fresh
air and some new food for thoughts. In
the workshop called “one step
ahead” the participants were
assigned a persona, they were then
asked questions to which they had to
answer according to the identity that
was handed to them. The result of this
workshop was that we realised that a
lot of things in your life are decided in
advance, depending on where you
were born, what religion you are
following or what your social status is.
After having lunch we continued with
the next session called “me and my
identity”, in this session we discussed
the different backgrounds and
identities of the participants and how
the differences in culture might cause
conflict in some situations.
The last activity of the day was named
“World Café” where participants had
to write down the assumptions that
exist in their countries surrounding;
education, disabilities, economics,
geography, health, culture and
society.
In today’s workshops we learned a lot
about the mind-sets of the different
countries participating and in the
evening 3 countries got the special
opportunity to present their countries
during the first cultural evening, where
Malta, Egypt and Turkey gave us a
taste of their typical food and
beverages and music.
