‘ An amazing combination of cultural activities, sightseeing and snow sports’
Oslo
Oslo is a city for all seasons but hard to beat in the winter when it offers a unique combination of events, activities and winter sports. Expect snow between December and March although it may not settle. Within just 20 minutes of the centre you can try your hand at skiing and tobogganing, and ice skating is possible at Spikersuppa by Karl Johans Gate. The Holmenkollen ski museum has an interactive exhibition, and for the more adventurous there are steaming hot fjord saunas that line the harbourside. The Christmas spirit is alive at the market in Karl Johans Gate in December and at the National Museum of Cultural History where there is a Christmas exhibition. On top of this there are cosy restaurants, boat trips on the fjord and stylish shopping.
NOTES We suggest the 5-star The Thief or the 4-star Hotel Amerikalinjen but others can be booked. We include flights from London to Oslo return with British Airways but regional flights can be offered. Transfers are not included but there is a fast train from the airport to the city centre.
SAMPLE PRICES From about £ 1,550 including economy flights to Oslo, and four nights bed and breakfast in a superior double room.
