Intensifying the involvement of business in education and the systematic incorporation of essential business know-how is one of the significant elements improving the quality of education and increasing the comp etitiveness of the graduating stud ents in the labour market . Vilnius University takes an advantage to build an effective partnership with social partners and businesses acting as a bridge for industrial-academic cooperation and trying to respond to requests for joint or funded research from businesses and government . Also , Vilnius University has a Career Center to help students and graduates find a good job , which has partnerships with Barclays Technologies ( Center Limited Lithuanian Branch ), Sensor Electronics Technology Inc ., Huawei Technologies Co ., Ltd , Aixtron , IBM , TELE2 , CERN , MMT Reseach , NERGAL and many others .

The system should ensure that generic and specific competencies and skills of University graduates are in consistency with the needs and tendencies of the economy , culture and labour market of the country ;
- to significantly increase non-consecutive , distance and other flexible study forms and methods and become the centre of continuous professional growth and lifelong learning , which plays a significant role in the transition of the country toward knowledge-based society [ 4 ]. I am euphoric that I have chosen exactly this university , as it gives exclusive opportunities to get a higher education

The University should differentiate itself by a broad spectrum of fundamental and applied research . It should seek to appropriate the leading position among other Lithuanian institutions in all research areas that are essential to the very nature of a comprehensive University and set itself the goal of global excellence in the interdisciplinary investigation . The University should be committed to the mission of opening the doors and granting universal education for the most talented young people from all districts of Lithuania and educating active and responsible specialists , who demonstrate the need to expand their knowledge and improve professionally and who can learn throughout their lifetime . The University should seek that the quality of all forms of studies conforms to the modern culture and technologies and concerns to the needs of the state and society . The vision of the University : - To locate and distinguish itself in European research and education area by top-level research , which should be sustained by University ' s research teams of international acclaim and new teams , as well as to ensure annually increasing involvement in European research and educational programmes ;
- to ensure that the balanced development and interaction of research in humanities , social , physical , biomedical and technological sciences remain the most outstanding feature of the University , which primarily differentiates it from other Lithuanian establishments of higher education and research ;

Having a bachelor degree in International Relations , I decided to study something new , but still close tight with diplomacy . So I applied to Faculty of Communications . Particularly the area I am involved in is international communications . International Communication studies prepare students for active involvement and diverse careers in marketing , communication , public relations at international organizations from established corporations to agile start-ups , as well as freelance employment as communication consultants . The programme aims for involve the area of public diplomacy as well . The study programme enhances knowledge in corporate communication , provides experience with international and intercultural environments , improves communication skills and creates a solid professional foundation for the communication expert of the 21st century in private and public sectors . The purpose of the International Communication studies is to deepen knowledge in corporate communication in an international and intercultural environment , improve skills for communication competence and create an understanding of possibilities for professional activities in a wide variety of institutions . The students who graduated the program become actively involved in the labor market , taking jobs of various levels and carrying out activities in marketing , communication , and public relations departments of international organizations as well as freelance communication specialists . The distinctive feature of the education system of the university out of Kazakhstani universities is a model of totally practical approach . So what it means is that students are mostly involved in different projects and research . The only duties of a lecturer are mentoring and giving the direction . It is not about reading and retelling the topic . By doing so , the University contribute to students ' development of practical skills .
