Gaming - A Growing Disease

by Athul Kishor, X-B

he world is

changing every-

day and so are the people. Nowadays, we have a wide variety of ways to spend our free time. One of the ways in which we spend it is through gaming.

It was started on a small scale but now it has evolved and increased heavily, especially with the type of gaming such as online games, arcades, CDs, Playstation, Portable Gaming, and so on.

What people dont understand is that the more time you spend gaming, the more harmful it is. It has caused many health problems and distracts us from our studies as well as damages our eyes due to exposure. It also brings changes to our habits and makes us forget our responisibilities and duties.

People play online games such as Farmville, Cityville, Mafia Wars, and many other unecassary things even while working. The youth feels that when new games release, they have to purchase it and complete it as soon as possible and move on to the next game. Gaming is spoiling the current gen-

eration and the on-coming genration, embedding into their minds even violence from action games such as Grand Theft Auto, Silent Hill, etc.

There are many living examples that show gaming has affected the lives of people in so many different ways, mostly for worse.

Let us bring the awareness to the youth about the harmful effects of gaming.

BE A WINNER, by Ameera Mohd. Zahir Shah, VI-A

The winner says, "It may be difficult, but it is possible.

The loser says, 'It may be possible, but it is difficult."

Winner makes it happen,

Loser lets it happen.

Winners always have a plan.

Losers always have an excuse.

Winner are part of the team.

Losers are apart from the team.

The winner makes a mistake and says

"I was wrong."

The loser makes a mistake and says,

"it was not my fault."
