Messages From Area Directors

Area Director , Area H3
Euonia is the goodwill that the speaker cultivates
between himself and the audience. I have been trying to
gulp my dose of euonia from the time I have prefixed
Toastmaster before my name. It's a great opportunity to
touch lives and also in the process of elevating oneself.
Division H is filled with creative minds and great
learners. I have seen people striving towards excellence.
This is the best atmosphere to be in and I am delighted
to be a part of something as exciting as this.

In rhetoric, ‘Eunoia’ is the goodwill a speaker
cultivates between himself and his audience, a
condition of receptivity. It comes from the Greek
word εὔνοια, meaning "well mind" or "beautiful
thinking".
Well, I have never heard a better definition of the
spirit of ‘Toastmasters International’. In every club
meeting; in every country – this is all we do –
Toastmasters engage in ‘beautiful thinking’ and
‘cultivating goodwill’ between themselves and a
group of fellow leaders. The Division-H newsletter,
‘Eunoia’, is trying to capture a tiny slice of the history
we create everyday in our clubs.
Margaret Atwood says, “A word after a word after a
word is power.”
Let us use the power of expression with
responsibility. Congratulations to the
‘Athena’ of this newsletter, Area Director;
TM Amrapali Pattanaik and her team for
this wonderful initiative. Let’s write stories
of change.
