Visibility of eTwinning Projects Group July 2013 Newsletter -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I do not want to sound vain, but I must confess that “if you want to, you can” do special things for children, with dedication and competence, at any age, with any kind of children, not just gifted children. Any child has capabilities that we do not even think of sometimes. You have to find out about these capabilities, and involve them in extracurricular projects, and especially in eTwinning projects, as they are particularly complex, and children engage in them passionately. Come, Come, Whoever You Are, Come by Pinar Alniak Comlek Wanderer, worshipper, lover of leaving — it doesn't matter, Ours is not a caravan of despair. Come, even if you have broken your vow a hundred times, Come, come again, come. Why did I choose this title? This quote belongs to a famous philosopher, theologian, poet, teacher, and founder of the Mevlevi (or Mawlawi) order of Sufism; also known as Mevlana (Our Guide), Jalaluddin Rumi. This year, eTwinning National Support Service of Turkey sponsored the Mevlana Prize for Intercultural Understanding. eTwinning Coordinator Mustafa Hakan BÜCÜK made an impressive speech about the activities on eTwinning Portal and put an emphasis on the idea of common feelings and beliefs of different nations, cultures, traditions and customs. The winner project is “Intercultural Dialogue Through Fairytales, Drama and Art” which embraces 28 countries with different but common tastes together. “In everything you do passionately, you build a part of yourself.” I was at Lisbon Conference 2013 I was also one of the lucky witnesses of the Lisbon Conference 2013. I called myself lucky because it was just a week before I started to work again. I was on maternity leave and it was a great opportunity to get started with a big inaugural ceremony. 79
