After 2 days, Jack came to Meredith’s house. He listened to her version of the situation from 2 days before. He checked some things like: windows, doors, stairs, pipe and attic. He also checked if someone wasn’t in their house making a joke. Then he called his friend, who was an exorcist. He described this strange situation to him and asked if it could be a demon. His friend told him that it was possible and they should invite another exorcist.
After a few days, Meredith called an old priest, who looked strange and tired. When he entered the house, he asked Meredith:
“What’s wrong, my dear? What happened exactly?”
“Well, we both heard an old man’s voice who was calling us. The weird thing was that he knew our names.”
“Maybe you heard some wolves. Wait… I heard… I feel now… a resistance between two spirits… something like an old war, Meredith.”
“Ah? I don’t understand. Which war?”
“I will bless the house. Meredith, I can`t tell you anymore but… it’s something that I know, it’s something strange…”

“All right. I didn’t want this. However, it doesn’t matter.”
After the priest blessed the house, he gave them a bottle of holy water, and he told Meredith before he left:
“Don’t forget: bark , mirror and me…”
“What on earth did you say? What’s wrong here? Why can’t you tell me?”
“This is your destiny, which was your husband’s destiny. You can solve this! Don’t forget: bark, mirror and me.”
In a night of 1962, after three quiet weeks, they heard noises outside: scratches, exaggerated carvings, something like wood beats. Initially, they didn’t pay attention to the noise but after a few moments, Holly looked out the window:
“Mom , I hear something odd from the yard.”
“Let it be Holly, maybe it is a woodpecker, nothing important. Come, please and help me with the dinner.”
The next day, in the morning: “Holly, come to get the basket and go pick some apples from the yard’s tree.”
The girl went out and began to pick green and sour apples. At one point she froze with her eyes on the bark of the tree and she remained motionless. Her mother saw her and exclaimed:
