I’ m currently an intern at an indie studio, Kingbee, and I would say that Escape Studios definitely prepared me very well. They tell you the hard truths that people don’ t always want to hear, but it’ s very helpful, and they’ re also incredibly supportive.

What attracted me to Escape Studios was the industry connections, and the fact that one of the tutors had worked on The Lion King. Because of that, I applied immediately. I’ m proud to be the first woman in my family, on my grandmother’ s side, to graduate.

Escape Studios is based in the heart of London, surrounded by some of the biggest creative companies in the world, and has many industry links with them. This meant I could get a significant step up into the industry and make professional connections while studying.
Escape introduced me to working with computers and gave me a real understanding of how the creative industry works. Some of my best experiences were making my short film and collaborating with friends on projects.
I fell in love with compositing during the VFX undergraduate degree, the perfect marriage of creative and technical skills, and Nuke really clicked with me. Being taught by industry professionals meant these skills could transfer directly to my first job, and working on intense team projects strengthened my teamwork skills while giving me showreel-ready work.

My time at Escape helped me immensely by introducing structure, schedules, and real deadlines, which made the experience feel serious and professional and strengthened my work ethic. Being taught by tutors with real VFX industry experience gave me practical insight into how the industry works and what is expected at a professional level. One of my proudest career moments was being credited on Yorgos Lanthimos’ latest film, Bugonia. Be ambitious and proactive, believe in yourself, work hard, take initiative, and never let anyone limit what you think you can achieve.
