OUR ESCAPEES:

ANIMATION AND VFX

Escape Studios has been instrumental in my industry journey. My first two roles came directly from contacts I made through Escape, and the animation course gave me the skills and experience to not only get my foot in the door but also stay there. My first job even came from a quick afternoon spent animating a friend’ s project, just because it had dinosaurs, and the company was working on dinosaurs!

Because it’ s so unique and so well loved, I have to say that Wicked, and Wicked: For Good, along with working on‐set across all three seasons of House of the Dragon have been my favourite projects so far. You never know what you’ ll learn or what doors your work might open, so stay curious and embrace every opportunity.

Escape was an excellent place for learning the hard skills of VFX, but it was also incredibly valuable for developing my soft skills. I learned how to work in a team, communicate professionally, and gained a good taste of leadership, while also making my first industry connections through experienced tutors.

Since graduating, I was part of the team that won the BAFTA for Special Visual Effects on Poor Things, which remains one of my proudest career moments. That experience reinforced how important it is to be not only technically skilled, but also a great colleague.

The projects that I have been a part of have taught me a lot about the industry, like work-flows, meeting briefs and deadlines. Having been 2D Lead in three projects, it has helped me develop my communication skills, working closely with Directors, Producers and Supervisors.
