Twelve month later, Martin Brundle joined the team and scored an all-Toyota front-row alongside Thierry Boutsen. Despite improvements with the gearbox, a fluid leak on Brundle’s car necessitated a change.
Both Brundle and Boutsen would eventually crash out of the race – resulting in the Belgian driver’s full-retirement from racing.
