BRUNDLE GETS THE OAK VENEER

On the back of a successful season in the 2013 FIA World Endurance Championship, Alex Brundle has re-signed with OAK Racing for the North American Endurance Series.

After securing second place in the drivers’ and teams’ ratings in LMP2, (a feat Brundle also achieved in the Le Mans 24 Hours) He will be back with the French team in North America with several outings in the Tudor United SportsCar Championship.

Brundle will share the wheel of the no. 42 Morgan-Nissan LM P2 entered in the new American Series with Columbian Gustavo Yacaman, who is down to drive it for the full season. OAK Racing will announce the names of the other drivers who will join them to take part in the team’s American adventure at a later date. It’s believed the collaboration between Brundle and OAK Racing won’t be confined to North America and could be called upon to contribute to the team’s other projects.

“I’m delighted to welcome Alex back to OAK Racing”, said Jacques Nicolet, President OAK Racing. “We began working together in 2012 and our relationship has kept getting stronger and stronger as time has passed. I like the guy very much.

Despite his relative youth - Alex isn’t twenty-four yet – he’s already accumulated considerable experience in endurance. In addition, not only is he bloody quick, he’s also an excellent test driver!”
