lism and church planting. We used the healthy chuch planting model from T & M to develop church multiplication trainers in partnership with our national partners.
In South Asia, we started training pastors in the principles of church multiplication. As evangelism began in a village, it continued until 20 adults chose to follow Jesus. One of my greatest joys was witnessing a village come together to celebrate the baptism of these adults and recognize them as a new church. T & M materials support the training of their new church leaders. Since this partnership began with approximately 100 churches in 2003, it has grown to plant more than 300 churches each year for the past 7 years. One leader said,“ I love Train & Multiply, and I love OMS.”
In Africa, the inclusion of T & M in the New Village Church Planting curriculum has significantly accelerated training. More than 650 training centers have recently completed a 4-year program using the new curriculum, resulting in the creation of 12,973 new worshiping groups. At least 350 centers will restart this fall in English, French, and Swahili, with 6 additional languages starting next year. Currently, more than 60 OMS countries worldwide are using T & M materials.
T & M has grown into a comprehensive library of resources for leadership development, church discipline, and training programs. The actual impact of T & M will only be seen in heaven. What we know now is this: 40,000 groups are using T & M materials, and more than 2 million believers have been added to the kingdom in the past decade. To God be the glory!
